Luke 18

Key Idea: Be encouraged!!

Summary: Hey Ladies,

How was your Thanksgiving? I hope you enjoyed some special moments with family and friends. We had a great time at a state park in Oklahoma where we have met my sister and her family for last 24 years. What?! Did I say 24 years?? Where in the world does the time go? Ha!!

I know it has been a busy time for all of you. Some have had huge work loads or are taking on new responsibilities, others have been visiting family and friends, while others have been caring for grandchildren and parents.

Know that the LORD sees all that you do in His name! (1 Corinthians 15:58)

We have spent the last few weeks discussing the importance of knowledge and how God helps us to understand spiritual truths through the daily stuff of life. The Bible says that when God created the world He infused wisdom into what He has made, so that we can look at creation and learn about Him. (Proverbs 8:27; Romans 1:20)

We can look at the stars, we can watch the birth of a baby (Go! Natalia!!), we can watch the ants work and store food for the winter, and we can even learn from rocks. That’s another story. Ha!!(Ps. 19:1-4; Proverbs 6:6 & 30:25; Luke 19:40)

If that isn’t enough, He gives us a Helper which is the very Spirit of God who knows the depths of God’s heart. He teaches us, comforts and guides us, and helps us to understand the ways of God. (1 Corinthians 2:11ff)

When can even ask God to give us understanding when we go through difficult times, like Daniel.

This has been a challenge to me these past few weeks. I have found myself several times asking God to help me understand difficult situations…and sometimes to help me understand my own heart. Though, I have to say at times it is hard work and I’d rather just sit and whine. Ha!!

Know that I am thinking of you all and praying for you!! More importantly we have One who sits at the right hand of the Father and HE is praying for you:-)

Blessings ’n hugs,
