Key Idea: Great is Thy faithfulness

Summary: How was your Thanksgiving? I trust you had a wonderful time with family and friends. We meet my sister and her family in an Oklahoma State Park. We take turn cooking meals, stay up into the wee hours playing games and always take a jaunt to the lake to throw rocks. In recent years, we’ve added a few dogs to the mix, so throwing sticks into the lake and watching them fetch has been an added attraction. Of course, you don’t want to be anywhere near them when they shake themselves dry. Ha!

The food is always wonderful. This year, we had three homemade delicious pies!!! Pumpkin, chocolate pecan and apple-cranberry. I am still savoring the taste! Looking forward to hearing from you all, tomorrow:-)

Last Sunday, there was no first hour. Instead, we gathered in the sanctuary to enjoy some good ol’ fashioned hymn singing. There’s something about those hymns that allows us to rehearse a bit of theology and the power of the Gospel. I love it!!

Here’s an old favorite. Enjoy:-)

“Great is Thy faithfulness, O God, my Father.
There is no shadow of turning with Thee.
Thou changest not, Thy compassions they fail not.
As Thou hast been, Thou forever wilt be.

Great is Thy faithfulness, great is Thy faithfulness
Morning by morning, new mercies I see.
All I have needed Thy hand hast provided.
Great is Thy faithfulness, LORD unto me.”
