Luke 22

Key Idea: Summary & catch-up

Summary: So good to see you all today! For those of you who were not able to make it, we MISS you!

We are nearing the finish of Luke. Can you believe it?!!! Three years. It has been life-changing for me. In the wee hours of the morning when I am hashing over a passage, the Spirit has a way of bringing it back to mind, especially if that truth has been repeated over and over and over again. There’s just no getting away from it!! Ha!!!

Here are just a couple of things to mull over.

1. God sent His Son into a messy world. He came to me, He sought me out! Jesus than says, “As the Father has sent me into the world, so send I you.” What?! Does that means He wants me to go? Yes. But the world is so messy. Yep, that’s right. People are hurting out there and they need the message of hope. They need Me, just like you do…and what are My means of getting the job done? Through ordinary people just like you:-)

2. But it’s a little scarey out there. Yep, that’s right. Remember the night when I told My disciples that I was leaving them? (Luke 22) I had spent several years preparing them. I even sent them on a couple of short term mission trips and gave them authority to do mighty deeds. In that particular time, they were to take nothing with them, because I was going to teach them how to depend upon Me. (Luke 9 & 10)

They performed many wonderful works in My name.

3. When it came time for Me to leave, they were in great sorrow. I reminded them to pray in the midst of their sorrow. I said to them, “When I sent you out without a purse, etc., did you lack anything? And they said, No.” I wanted them to remember that I AM their Provider, just like I will provide for you! Look back over your own life and remember. You are not alone, I am with you and I will provide for you! (John 14:1;16; Luke 22)

We ended our class today being reminded that Jesus is the great I AM. He is the Son of Man, He is the Son of God. (Luke 22:66-71) The Word of God who spoke the universe into existence put on flesh and walked among us, so that we might see God. He healed the sick, cast out demons and gave His body to be broken for us. We are covered by His blood, and because we are covered by His blood…we live.

Have a great week. Live in the power that God so readily has given to us.

Hugs, Bobbie
